Altraplan was given the opportunity to be the head sponsor of the Optimist Cup 2009 that took place in Vedbaek in Denmark, on the 2nd and 3rd May 2009. Approximately 200 young children in the age between 8 and 15 participated to the event to sail optimist boats. The Cup is one of the most important sailing events of 2009 in Denmark where children compete and qualify for the World Championship in Brazil, the European Championship and the Nordic Championship within this sailing class.

Altraplan was particularly proud to be able to support the youth through that event. It actually turned up that a lot of the values which children learn at a young age and which are used in practice during sailing will equip them for life. Focusing, taking decisions, planning, etc. combined with exercise, sport and fresh air on the sea are very healthy and precious principles for their further careers.

The weather gods smiled down on Vedbæk and guaranteed a clear blue sky, as well as warm temperatures and moods which made the event once more a big success.
